How do we respond to the feeling that the last bit of hope is slipping through our fingers? Habakkuk is told to prophesy the coming destruction of Judah at the hands of the wicked Babylonians. But not to fret, God will bring His justice to bear on them in the near future. Unfortunately, that near future was too distant for Habakkuk. He witnessed the fulfillment of the first prediction but not the second. In the face of the devastation of this conquering enemy, he reveals a truth that enables him to cling to hope and be filled with an inexplicable joy that empowers him to rise above every struggle triumphantly!
