L.I.F.E. - Living in Fellowship and Evangelism
Our L.I.F.E. groups are a microcosm of Christian community, where every member ministers and receives ministry. Life-long friendships are built, needs are met, people are trained to use their gifts, and as a team the group reaches out to the community.
The Bible is central to all that we do, but lives are changed not only in the context of the meetings, but outside of them as well, because we believe that Christianity is a daily lifestyle.
A L.I.F.E. Group is a small group of 8-15 people, meeting in a home. The purpose of a cell group is to worship our God intimately; study and apply His Word to our lives; build relationships; minister to one another; and share one another's joys, burdens and friendship.
"In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him, you too are being built together to become a holy dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit"-Ephesians 2:21-22
Lives are changed in the context of relationships!
L.I.F.E. Groups are the basic building block of Powerline Community Church. In other churches, they are sometimes known as Cell Groups, Home Groups or Care Groups because they meet in homes and they are the place where church members get care. Each L.I.F.E. Group has leaders who are training apprentices to one day lead their own groups.
In Ephesians 4:11-12, Paul says, "It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ".
What better place to be prepared for "works of service" than in small groups of believers. It is in these small groups that L.I.F.E. Group leaders can assist Elders and Pastors in preparing God's people and that believers can learn about walking out a real Christian life that is a light to the world. Here, we share our needs and help one another in very practical ways.
