Most Meaningful Ministry Experience Has Been: Leading my first Bible study.

How I came to Christ: I’ve been a Christian since I was three. I’ve grown up in a Christian home, and I have learned about The Bible my entire life. We also, as kids and now, were made to have our quiet times every day. When I was 10 and 11 though, I would lie and say that I had had them, when asked, but wouldn’t actually have them. I would have them sometimes, but on the most part I didn’t. I knew that I didn’t have a close relationship with God, and I felt guilty because I felt like a hypocrite. I was letting everyone think that I was close to the Lord, only I wasn’t. God has slowly been working on me over the years. Showing me more and more of himself, and letting me grow closer to him. Certain things have happened that have brought me closer to Him. One was when I was 14. I was going through class about dealing with conflict, and one of the chapters was about forgiveness, and what it means. I realized that there was a person in my life, who I thought I had forgiven for hurting my family and me, but I hadn’t; I had continued to hold on to the bitterness. Through the book, I realized what I needed to do to forgive him, and I did. That summer I went through a class called ‘Godly Womanhood’, and God really worked in me through that about desiring to serve Him and abiding in Him. God has been doing a lot in my life since then, with desiring to follow the calling He has for me and witnessing and ministering to people. God’s faith in and patience with me continues to astound me. I love Him so much, and I want to serve Him with my life. I want the verse ‘to live is Christ, and to die is gain” to describe my life. I still struggle with some things, but I know that through God, and through a close relationship with Him, I’ll be able to do what He wants me to do with my life.
